AYUMI HIGUCHI
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Ayumi Higuchi (JP/NL) is a graphic designer based in Amsterdam. After completing her studies at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2009, she has been working on editorial/book design for artbook publishers, art magazines, and independent artists, as well as visual identity for cultural institutions.
She has designed numerous publications among others: I'm So Happy You Are Here: Japanese Women Photographers from the 1950s to Now (Aperture), What They Saw: Historical Photobooks by Women, 1843–1999 (10x10 Photobooks), Foam Magazine (Art Direction: Hamid Sallali, 2017–ongoing), etc.
Since 2013, Ayumi has shared a studio with Roger Willems (Roma Publications) and Hans Gremmen (Fw:Books). In 2019, they launched Enter Enter, a project space where they organise exhibitions and events on books. She also has been a board member of Graphic Design Review since 2020 and periodically writes about graphic design in Japanese.
